“Maximize the impact of your data by creating interactive dashboard reports that effectively communicate your insights”

MS Excel Dashboards

I specialize in creating customized dashboards that are designed in MS Excel. This software is widely used for Business Intelligence purposes and is likely to remain so in the future. The advantage of using Excel is that it eliminates the need for expensive analytical visualization software, costly licenses, renewal fees, and training.

My approach to designing dashboards is to keep it simple and elegant. I believe that complexity is the enemy of effective and efficient management reporting. Therefore, my dashboards are defined by power, simplicity, and beauty. However, it is essential to note that a "simple report" does not necessarily mean an "easy report."

I work hard to ensure that my Excel Dashboards look clean, refined, and smart. By streamlining all dashboard elements, I create a harmonious look that enables you to navigate the dashboard efficiently, obtain valuable insights from your data, and draw the right conclusions in very little time.

Excel dashboards are an excellent tool for consolidating massive amounts of data, findings, and analysis into an executive summary that facilitates sound business decisions. They can be printed as stand-alone reports or shared as PDFs.

Labour Force Dashboard: Canada and Provinces

Statistics Canada's Labour Force Survey (LFS) is a highly regarded report that offers valuable insights into different sectors of the Canadian economy. The monthly figures provide detailed information on employment and unemployment rates, industry-specific employment data, and more. This descriptive and explanatory data is extensively used by professionals in the labor market, including economists, consultants, planners, forecasters, and academics in both the private and public sectors. To make the data more accessible, a LF Dashboard has been created that summarizes the key LFS data and is updated monthly. A subscription is required to access this dashboard.

This Business Intelligence (BI) tool can be customized or revamped to cater to your organization's specific requirements..

Project: Social Economic Benefits Associated With Riparian Management Practices

The goal of this study was to determine the following:

Present value of improving and maintaining riparian health by implementing riparian grazing management practices, and

Present value of improving and maintaining riparian health by intensive livestock operation regulations on cow-calf producers.

The Contingent Valuation (CV) method was used to determine present values. The CV method involves a contingent valuation survey. In a CV survey, respondents are asked direct questions about their “willingness to pay” (WTP) for or their “willingness to accept” (WTA) specific environmental amenities in a hypothetical situation.

The Contingent Valuation method infers individuals' preferences for public goods and services, such as the demand for improvement in the water supply, sanitation services, conservation areas, etc. It is also used in cost-benefit analysis when decisions about environmental projects must be made.

The results from the study were cited in the research projects listed below:

Page 34: … In a more general context, Spasic (2002) undertook a survey of 300 randomly selected Saskatchewan residents and estimated their willingness-to-pay for riparian management (with implicit recognition of water quality benefits). The sample consisted of 61 percent urban households, 15 percent rural non-farm (towns) households, and 15 percent farm households. The average willingness to pay for water quality improvements was estimated at $39.92 per household, with the median value $23.60 per household…

Page 10: ... Improved water quality produces benefits to the society through drinking water as well as for recreational use of water bodies. Value of improved water quality is typically measured as WTP. A number of studies have been undertaken to estimate household’s WTP for improved water quality. For the US, the range in estimates has been from $56 to $1,154 (US). For Saskatchewan, Spasic (2002) estimated a value of $39.93 per household for riparian management leading to improved water quality.

Using Spasic’s estimate of society’s WTP and estimated number of households of 40,553 receiving water quality benefits, total water quality benefits were estimated at $1.21 million…

Page 4: ... A random survey of 300 Saskatchewan households found that the clean water and wildlife habitat provided by good riparian management is worth approximately $21 million to the Saskatchewan public...
